The penultimate event of the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour at Zhuzhou’s Hunan International Circuit has restricted the battle for the title to Lynk & Co Cyan Racing teammates Yann Ehrlacher and Thed Björk who are now split by 34 points, with 75 on offer in the season finale at Macau on November 13/ only competitor, Esteban Guerrieri fell out of contention, as he struggled throughout the weekend with the pace of his Honda.

The three races of the Chinese weekend were all won by French drivers, with Aurélien Comte emerging victorious in the first and the third races in his SP Compétition CUPRA Leon VZ, while Ehrlacher survived the ruthless battles of Race 2 to take his fourth win of the the other drivers, those who performed better were Björk who finished three times on the podium, Mikel Azcona whose second place in Race 2 salvaged somehow a difficult weekend for the BRC Hyundai SP Squadra Corse and HMO Customer Racing’s championship returnee Will Brown who delivered a pair of thrilling fights with Ehrlacher.

On Lynk & Co’s home playground, Cyan Racing was crowned Teams’ champion after Saturday’s Race 1 and now, with the mathematical certainty of the Drivers’ title, will try to lift Santiago Urrutia to P3 and fill the championship podium.
